it’s been seven months since i last ate meat. and i feel very good about myself. parang napakalaki na ng nagawa ko sa buhay ko, i feel so accomplished. mas masaya ako sa pagiging vegetarian ko kaysa sa high school graduation ko. i feel as if i’m on to something really huge and important. para akong superhero na ngayon lang natuklasan ang kapangyarihan. mas natutuwa ako sa nagawa ko para sa lahat ng hayop na hindi ko kinain (and for the record, by being vegan, i am saving 100 animals a year.), kaysa sa lahat ng natutunan ko sa buong buhay ko sa silya sa loob ng classroom. i realized how much i did not like high school and learning just to learn. now, i what i have learned are put into actions. and the sense of fulfillment and satisfaction i get from doing this ac
counts to more than what i will ever learn and stock inside my young brain. kung naniniwala a

i am so happy that i became a vegetarian. i learned things that have been hid

ng things we don’t know the origin of, or the damage we are bringing by simply ordering a hamburger. i want to continue doing this
because i really really think that this is a good thing. actually, i think that this is a realization. kumbaga, lahat tayo nakalublob sa tubig, tapos kami, nakaahon na. and i think na lahat kayo ay dapat na ring umahon at hindi tuluyang malunod.
a friend told me na marami akong mamimiss out sa ginagawa ko. pero living a better life doesn’t seem

porkchop will never be food again. right now, i see porkchop as a cooked dead pig. no, it’s a cooked murdered pig. i would never eat porkchop again. i would never eat carcass. it’s gross, it’s dirty, it’s unhealthy, and it is immoral. when you become a vegetarian, you don’t just see a loaf of bread, you will se
e that it is made from milk and eggs and stuff, and you realize, that it’s not worth it. sabi nila maarte daw ako. it’s true, but still, you wouldn’t eat your neighbor if you were on a stranded island. you wouldn’t eat your dog or your cat or your love

birds, or your goldfish. why are pigs, cows, and chickens any different? even autopsy freaks people out. if they only knew the horror involved in the making of commercial milk.
cows, not even adult cows, but young cows, probably 2 months old, are forced to get pregnant so they lactate. sucking machines hurt their tits, on the process of extracting milk. in case you didn’t know, farm animals that are happy, cheery, and taken care of properly, do not exist anymore. what we have now are food factories involving not livestock but animals. animals who are living, breathing, who are capable of feeling pain, capable of feeling stress, loneliness and fear. fear of being eaten.
KFC, McDonald’s, and other famous fast food chains, are filthy rich because of their fried chicken. but have you ever thought if your “happy meal” is really happy? in order to make your “delicious” mcnuggets, chickens are boiled alive. there is a way of humanely killing animals, that is electrocution. but these companies are too anxious to lose their precious money to heighten up the voltage to kill chickens quickly so they don’t feel unnecessary pain. so instead of dead chickens being feathered, scalded and then fried, they are all alive
in these cruel processes. so, are you still lovin’ it?
may nagsabi din sa akin na i don’t think of survival. but really, i don’t need to think about survival. i mean, we’re not cavemen anymore. we don’t need to hunt for food anymore. “meat eating is primitive.” food is abundant nowadays. everywhere we turn, there are fast food chains, restaurants, food stands, even sari-sari stores, groceries and supermark

ets. we need not to worry about not being able to find food. and besides, vegetables are the cheapest of all the foods. i don’t need to spend big cash on flesh. i can get vegetables from our backyard. and i am never gonna die of hunger.
another thing that vegans do, is not just to be a vegetarian but to refuse to use any products that exploit animals. for example, leather and fur. i
mean, WEAR YOUR OWN SKIN!
animals have rights too. and whenever you get the chance to think about it, think about it. imagine if humans were a part of this flesh eating. imagine humans being treated as livestock. pinatataba, pinararami, inaabuso, para kainin. “do not do unto others what you don’t want others do unto you.”
